Graduated in 2006 or later | Basic Craft Certificate in Welding and Fabrication | Experienced workers from other industries or workers who possess relevant skills have to complete a designated ship repair re-training programme of not longer than one month, and to be employed by a local shipyard as skilled workers in the ship repair industry. Successful applicants will be eligible to a financial incentive of HK$4,000 per month for not more than 12 months during a continuous employment. |

Remark: | At present, the designated courses are offered by the Vocational Education Council, as shown in the table above. After completing any of the designated courses, a student must join the ship repair industry by entering into an apprenticeship contract with a local shipyard to receive on-the-job ship repair training. |
