The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Lam Sai-hung, continued his visit to Singapore today (January 31).

Mr Lam first paid a visit to the Intelligent Transport Systems Centre of the Land Transport Authority to understand the challenges in Singapore's urban traffic management and how the Intelligent Transport Systems plays its role in improving the city's transport efficiency. He then visited the Singapore Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal on Jurong Island and received a briefing on the use of sustainable energy there.

Mr Lam had a tour at Changi Airport in the afternoon and met with representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. He also had a meeting with the Minister for Transport of Singapore, Mr Chee Hong Tat, to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

Mr Lam said Hong Kong and Singapore maintain a close bilateral trade relation all along. Singapore is the fourth largest trading partner of Hong Kong, while reciprocally Hong Kong is the fifth largest trading partner of Singapore and serves as a major gateway for Singapore's entry to the Mainland market. He looks forward to the strengthening of mutual co-operation between Hong Kong and Singapore and the promotion of transport and logistics development in the Asia-Pacific region together.

Mr Lam met with Hong Kong people living in Singapore in the evening to learn about their daily lives. He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow morning (February 1).
