Transportation in Hong Kong gradually resumes normal operations

A spokesman for the Transport and Logistics Bureau said today (October 9) that the Hong Kong Observatory issued the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 11.40am, traffic conditions in Hong Kong are now generally smooth, and public bus and railway services have generally returned to normal. Other means of transportation are also gradually resuming to normal.

The Transport and Logistics Bureau, along with its departments, has been closely monitoring the situation and maintaining close communication with public transport operators and the Airport Authority Hong Kong during the typhoon, so as to ensure the prompt restoration of normal operations of various modes of transportation (including rail, land and waterborne transport) as weather conditions permitted. At present, although a few roads may experience minor flooding or fallen trees due to the typhoon, the traffic in various districts is generally smooth and the departments will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions, the spokesman added.
