The Government proposes to improve the arrangements for issuing Certificate of Particulars of Motor Vehicle ("the Certificate") by introducing legislative amendments to the Road Traffic (Registration and Licensing of Vehicles) Regulations (Cap. 374E) (the Regulations). The purpose is to better protect privacy and ensure the proper use of the personal particulars of registered vehicle owners kept in the register under the Regulations. The Government would like to consult the public before proceeding with the proposed legislative amendments.
The Government is conducting a two-month public consultation exercise on the proposed changes to the Regulations from 12 July to 11 September 2011 inclusive. Please click the link below for the Public Consultation Document -
All members of the public are welcome to express views on our proposal. Please send your opinions to us on or before 11 September 2011 -
